**Title:** SDO Flight Operations Team Systems EngineerJob Description Exploring space means more than charting the final frontier. The Solar Dynamics Observatory is one of the largest solar observing spacecrafts ever placed into orbit and KBR is looking for the right person to join the SDO Flight Operations Team as a Systems Engineer. The SDO Flight Operations Team Systems Engineer responsibilities will be to + Study and develop proficiency with the SDO Mission Operations Center (MOC) Telemetry and Command (T&C) subsystem. + Study and develop proficiency in the use of the satellite Systems Test and Operations Language (STOL) used for ground system and observatory command control. + Study and learn the primary subsystems that comprise the SDO observatory including RF communications, attitude control, propulsion, power, and command & data handling. + Monitor telemetry displays and assess the health and status of the SDO ground system and observatory. + Perform and support routine operations of the SDO ground stations including telemetry and command operations, and satellite tracking. + Perform and support routine operations of the SDO science data distribution system including high data rate receiver signal processing, data accounting and distribution. + Write and maintain general logs and operations records including daily operations plans and anomaly reports. Investigate complex anomalies as assigned by the FOT Technical Lead; this may include work with hardware and software vendors, FOT co-workers, NASA engineers, and the customer to determine corrective action and long-term solutions. + Perform routine trending and engineering analysis for one or more assigned ground and space segment subsystems. **Required Education/Experience** Bachelors (Masters preferred) in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience. 5 years system design experience, including hardware/software integration. **Scheduled Weekly Hours:** 40 KBR is a global provider of differentiated professional services and technologies across the asset and program lifecycle within the Government Solutions and Energy sectors.
