Electrical Project Engineer - Denver, COWestwood Professional Services, Inc.Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Electrical ProjectEngineer or Electrical Design Technician to join our team in our Denver, COoffice. The position will be a member of our Electrical Engineering group forsolar, wind or energy storage plants, which includes; plantlayout/collection design, selecting appropriate system hardware, systemoptimization, power production modeling, and interconnection requirementsfor projects. This individual will support senior designers/engineers in thepreparation of construction documents. The position has plenty of opportunityfor growth in this fast expanding renewable market. Westwood has a highlyexperienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-levelprofessional services to our clients.Duties and Responsibilities:Construction document production supportCoordinate with various design team disciplines including civil engineers,geotechnical engineers, and surveyorsUtilize Autocad to create construction documents and perform quantitytakeoffs. Construction documents will include site layouts, wire/cablerouting plans, onelines, details, equipment/wire schedules, etc.Create wiring/cable schedules based takeoffs and sizing input from seniordesigners/engineersModeling and running electrical and grounding studies using ETAP, DigsilentPower Factory, CYMCAP, and WinIGSMaintain awareness and knowledge of Westwood design/CAD standardsRequired ExperienceProficiency in AutoCADKnowledge of NEC and/or NESCExperience and knowledge of basic electrical design conceptsAssociates Degree or Technical School Certificate in ElectricalDesign/Engineering or related degreeApproximately 4 - 8 years of experience in the drafting/design of electricalpower/distribution systemsWorking knowledge and ability to read construction drawings and specificationsProficiency with Microsoft Windows/Office productsProfessional appearance with excellent written and verbal communicationsskillsMust have a strong work ethic along with a positive attitudeMust be a supportive team member, able to work in a collaborativeenvironment capable of both leading and following.Must be self-motivated with an ability to balance multiple projects undertight deadlines For Preferred Consideration (Not Required):Bachelor's Degree in Electrical EngineeringPE License or ability to obtainExperience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or PLS CADSubstation and/or T.and.D Line Design ExperienceProficiency with ETAP, SKM, CYME, Digsilent Power Factory, Aspen,PSSE, or similar software package used to model electrical power systems andperform load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, grounding, thermal,protective device coordination studies and analysis, and arc flash studiesExperience with WinIGS or CDEGS grounding analysis softwareExperience with PVsyst, Helioscope, SAM, Helios 3D, SunDAT or other PVdesign softwareAbout Westwood Professional Services, Inc.
