## Job Summary: Join our Space Science and Engineering Division as a Research Scientist. Participate in and carry out original research addressing a broad range of heliospheric science topics, including solar wind interactions with interstellar medium particles, origin and acceleration of energetic particles in the interplanetary medium, and solar wind structure using interplanetary scintillation observations. You will support your team by analyzing data from IBEX, Wind, ACE, MMS, STEREO, and PSP. Publish results in peer-reviewed scientific journals, present results at scientific meetings, workshops, and conferences. Propose and lead relevant scientific investigations in data analysis and modeling. Collaborate with Institute staff engaged in a broad range of observational, computational, and theoretical research in the physics of the solar wind, energetic neutral atoms, suprathermal and energetic particles. ## Education/Experience: Requires a PhD degree in Space Physics, Plasma Physics, or Applied Physics. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Must have industry or academic experience in Geant4, Simion, observational, computational, and theoretical research in the physics of the solar wind, energetic neutral atoms, suprathermal and energetic particles. Must have demonstrated the ability to program and utilize software tools such as Simion, Mathematica, Geant4, IDL, or Python. Must have a broad range of research activities related to heliospheric science topics, including solar wind interactions with interstellar medium particles, origin and acceleration of energetic particles in the interplanetary medium, and solar wind structure using interplanetary scintillation observations. Must have experience analyzing data. Must have observational, computational, and theoretical research experience in the physics of the solar wind, energetic neutral atoms, suprathermal and energetic particles.
