For more information, visit The Billing & Collections Manager is responsible for end-to-end billing and collections processes for the Community Solar business unit. This includes identifying and documenting all controls, policies, and standard operating procedures related to ongoing billing and collections for Residential as well as Commercial & Industrial customers. The Billing & Collections Manager is responsible for maintaining and executing monthly billing, managing the relationship with a third-party billing vendor, and monitoring and reporting on billing performance to executive leadership. In addition, the Billing & Collections Manager will work with functional leaders across all departments of Clearway Community Solar to identify and implement enhancements to day-to-day billing operations. The Billing & Collections Manager may also be asked to obtain additional knowledge and have the flexibility to work across other regions as requested. This position may also require working outside of normal business hours during certain times of the year. This position is part of the Clearway Community Solar Customer Operations group and reports to the Director of Customer Operations. This position is expected to have 2-3 direct reports, and will be based in Houston, Texas. Responsibilities: + Oversee, optimize, and execute end-to-end operational billing & collections processes for new and existing billing structures and markets (residential, commercial, non-traditional) + Oversee and execute residential and commercial traditional billing, non-traditional billing, and billing quality assurance processes + Conduct billing validations and establish QA checks and controls in monthly billing & collections processes + Manage reconciliations for commercial and residential customers as needed and per established guidelines + Develop and implement processes for submission, approval, and execution of billing & collections exceptions + Resolve billing exceptions with an understanding of the impact of decisions on other teams and systems + Produce billing & collections metrics and reports for management, customers, and audit support + Manage operational relationship with third-party billing vendor and drive strategic and tactical improvements + Coordinate with third-party billing vendor for establishing new billing types, rules, collections activities, and GL codes as required + Provide day-to-day management and tasking of two to three direct reports within the Billing & Collections function + Serve as the primary point of contact for billing and collections related inquiries from internal Clearway teams including Treasury, Accounting, and Tax + Handle billing audit requests from Accounting and provide billing reports as requested + Ensure project deadlines are maintained + Perform other functions as assigned + Ability to travel up to 10 percent of the time. Requirements Knowledge & Skills + Demonstrated previous experience managing residential and commercial customer Billing & Collections functions + Previous experience in a Billing & Collections role in the Energy Industry is a plus + Strong organizational skill and rigor. + Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills + Detail-oriented and self-motivated high achiever with ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a cross-functional environment + Previous experience of managing one or more direct reports, and leading cross-functional teams + Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize multiple concurrent workstreams + Ability to communicate information clearly, both orally and in writing + Ability to independently perform data analysis in excel and produce findings Education and Experience + At least seven (7) years of relevant work experience in a Billing, Collections, or related role + Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree a plus + Experience in the solar or retail energy industries is a major plus as well as previous experience working in a fast-paced environment. + Experience interpreting data sets and performing billing reconciliations + Experience establishing or improving standard operating procedures + Competence with mathematics, technical concepts, and data and trend analysis + Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize data and communicate insights to management + Proficiency with complex data analysis in Microsoft Excel
