For more information, visit Network and Systems Engineer Provides intermediate level production-support as well as develops tactical and strategic enhancements to our network environment. Responsibilities include network design and execution, develop and maintain network monitoring and management tools, documentation, customer support, fault / problem management and resolution, hardware life cycle management, and management of network security issues. Configuration + Configure, implement and maintain Cisco router, switch, firewalls and wireless networks in WAN. + Develop standard configuration for devices, upgrades, modifications using scripting and automation. + Research new technologies such as network virtualization, WAN acceleration, cloud computing. + Assist in build and maintenance of Windows and Linux servers both in support of network monitoring and directly supporting business functions and applications. Administration + Manage network monitoring systems and tools: Solarwinds, MRTG, Cisco SNTC, Smokeping, Cisco Defense Orchestrator, Wireshark, Cisco ISE, IPAM. + Assist with day-to-day network security event investigation and risk remediation. + Manage existing hardware, identify and budget for replacements, plan and execute hardware refresh, + Network performance auditing and tune-up (4G cellular, MPLS, Internet circuits). + Implement and maintain VPN: Client software, IPSEC site-to-site tunnels, FlexVPN, AutoVPN. Support + Manage incoming trouble ticket queue, provide troubleshooting and resolution of network issues. + Assist in NERC/CIP security compliance project with network documentation, segmentation, and firewall rule clean-up and standardization. + Proactively recognize and document business process gaps, propose and implement improvements. + Reviews deliverables to ensure quality of projects before delivery to the business or production support. + Maintain appropriate status reports, meeting minutes, and follow-up with business partners, vendors and internal resources. + Participate in 24x7 weekly on-call rotation for production support up to one week per month. + Travel up to 15% as needed to install or maintain the network at different Clearway facilities. Requirements Knowledge & Skills + Cisco CCNA R&S and CCNA Security certifications REQUIRED, CCNP level certification preferred. This includes competence with routing, switching, wireless, and firewall technologies. + Scripting, network and task automation, and programming skills through structured coursework or similar work experience REQUIRED. + Knowledge of Cyber Security and NERC-CIP compliance preferred. + Troubleshooting ability with TCP/IP packet sniffing and analysis tools REQUIRED. + A motivated self-starter with capability to operate on their own with little direction and/or monitoring as an individual contributor or as a team member. + Capability to help deliver quality business solutions within restricted timelines while appropriately communicating/escalating risks, issues, or constraints as necessary to business and/or IT management. + Ability to effectively prioritize with organizational skills to execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial. + Ability to read communication styles of team members, business partners, and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines and be able to change delivery of communication accordingly. + Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills. Experience & Education + Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Networking and System Administration, or a similar field required. + 3 years network administration tools and configuration of Cisco ASA firewalls, Routers and Switches. + 2 years of demonstrable work experience with low-level network technologies including T1, fiber optics, 802.11 wireless, and cellular WAN. + 1+ years of experience in network design required. + Demonstrable competence with research methods, communication of results, and analytical skills.
