Reporting to the General Manager, Plant Infrastructure, the Manager, Controls Commissioning, is responsible for the successful design and commissioning of Plant controls and implementation of operational diagnostics throughout Field Operations. This position will be based in our Scottsdale, AZ office. Principle Responsibilities/Key Results Areas + Act as the O&M lead for the design, performance, and execution of plant controls during commissioning and operation + Design and implement design and performance standards for the fleet plant controls including in the contracting stage. This includes Solar and Wind. + Oversee EPC and other engineering firms during the design and commissioning of plant controls + Be the primary point of contact with Construction with regards to plant controls + Be the primary point of contact with IT with regards to plant controls + Provide mentoring and training to other SCADA and Controls engineers at Clearway + Design and implement SCADA and Controls on operating wind farms + Troubleshoot, analyze, and upgrade plant SCADA and Controls + Represent Clearway and plants with regulatory bodies, as needed + Support construction, remote operations, and field operations, as needed Requirements Experience and Education + Minimum of 7 years of operations experience in the power industry around controls with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Renewables + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related degree + Project management experience + Electrical system controls expertise + Experience with Renewable Plant controls + Experience managing contractors Knowledge and Skills + Ability to interpret NERC, ERCOT, WECC and CAISO regulations + Ability to demonstrate a technical understanding of power plant systems + Plant Controls Systems Knowledge + Build out of controls systems in RTAC’s + Understanding of Generation Theory + Time management and organizational Skills + Outstanding written and verbal communication skills + Highly data driven and analytical + Customer focus driven + High proficiency in MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, and Outlook
