**Posting Title** Communications Professional III - Part time . **Location** CO - Golden . **Position Type** Part Time as Needed (Fixed Term) . **Hours Per Week** 18 . **Job Description** The National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s (NREL’s) Communications Office has an opening for a Communications Project Manager who will oversee projects to communicate the laboratory’s Buildings and Thermal Sciences research through a variety of strategic programs and content channels, such as success stories, website content, newsletters, and annual reports. As an NREL Communications Professional II, you will establish relationships with researchers and management, while collaborating with team members—other project managers, writers, editors, graphic designers, and web producers/developers—to develop and execute digital and traditional communications programs. We’re looking for a self-motivated individual with experience delivering client service in an agency or internal setting who enjoys overseeing details and deadlines. This individual works independently, under general direction, to plan, coordinate, and provide solutions to a variety of communication projects and services. **Successful candidates will have** + Experience in maintaining and building relationships with clients + Strong leadership, project management, and problem solving skills. + Strong attention to detail and quality + Superior writing and editing skills + Keen interest in learning about Solar, Buildings, and Thermal Sciences research + Ability to distill complex technical information into understandable and engaging content + Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and deadlines independently + Aptitude for creating a wide range of digital media content and managing it in a CMS + Complete understanding and wide application of traditional and digital communication standards and best practices + Can-do attitude and collaborative workstyle. **About NREL & The Communications Office** NREL is the only U.S. Department of Energy national laboratory dedicated completely to renewable energy and energy efficiency research. The Communications Office comprises communications experts in a variety of disciplines focused on raising awareness about the lab. This position resides in the Office’s Science & Technology Communications Group, which consists of 12 teams representing NREL’s wide-ranging research areas. . **Basic Qualifications** Bachelor's Degree in English, journalism, communications, or marketing and 5 or more years of experience. Or, relevant Master's Degree in English, journalism, communications, or marketing and 3 or more years of experience.
