Henry Schein One unifies market-leading software, web tools, support, and patient services into the one platform that is a standard for connecting all practice dental technology.** ** ** *JOB OVERVIEW:* This position is responsible for installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems software and hardware for multi-user server computers and/or personal computing devices including: Meeting end user needs by ensuring the uptime, performance, resource availability, and security of the computers managed within established budgets and operational guidelines. Acquiring, installing, and upgrading computer components and software and planning for/responding to service outages and other problems. Automating routine tasks using scripting and writing basic computer programs to address more complex systems software configuration and enhancement. Activities include developing information technology strategies, polices and plans; maintenance and use of information technology resources; training and supporting technology users; telecommunications network planning, operations and site acquisition; programming software/database products for sale to external customers, and internet product management & operations. Activities include ensuring the uptime, performance, and resource availability of the computers and other IT systems; matching the organization's resources with the demand placed on them; monitoring organization's wide area and/or local area network performance; identifying and resolving network problems; upgrading network hardware, software and telecommunications equipment; IT data center facility operations; and ensuring the quality, accuracy and security of databases. *KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * * Monitor Systems security errors, exceptions, and attempted violations Comply with all the applicable security controls * Work with corporate IT security manager to enforce security procedures and resolve issues * Evaluate and Address (Correct or document Exception) any functional issues caused by STIGs * Inform Government of documented Exceptions and STIGs compliance status * Provide adequate licenses, application maintenance, and support (e.g. ongoing upgrade fees, troubleshooting, etc.) for non-Cerner solutions * Perform software updates/fixes and New Releases. Monitor software notifications (e.g., flashes, advisories, bulletins, etc.) for critical issues to keep System at a supportable level. * Perform all special instructions (application and technical) * Perform all application service package management testing as required * Upon Government request, installation of Service Packages (software updates/fixes) and New Releases; perform technical special instructions * Perform Service Package application special instructions testing as required * Cycle application services as required * Configure, monitor, and manage application purges, operation jobs, audit reports, and logfiles in accordance with solution provider recommendations * Train end users on application(s) * Application testing and validation, customization, etc. * Provide statistics and management reports to Government on a regular basis (e.g. system availability reports, incident reports, etc.) * Log all incidents and problems in accordance with standard operating procedures. Notify Government help desk of issues found that affect service * Maintain ownership of all problems related to EHRM System services through closure * Monitor system transaction queues for pending or failed transactions * Review pending or failed transactions for proper status and determination; resubmit transactions as needed * Monitor and cycle (as required) outbound interface servers. Monitor and cycle (as required) inbound interface servers to establish connections to foreign systems. Ensure inbound transaction gateway for foreign systems are operational. Review interface posting logs and error logs * Set purge retention criteria for all available purge templates provided by Henry Schein One based on appropriate Government-specific clinical guidelines and schedule purge jobs to run in operations (e.g., temporary tables such as completed medical device interface and foreign system interface transactions) * Work with development group to conduct annual technology review and planning (roadmapping) for all elements of Technical Architecture (underlying hardware, OS, Layered Software, and Henry Schein One application) * Consult and work with Cerner and Leidos DoD partners on: * Monitor and maintain Computing Systems as required to maintain System health, security, availability, and capacity * Assign and manage end user accounts for access to applications or other peripherals as needed to ensure personnel have appropriate access * Comply with cyber incident reporting requirements * Perform software updates/fixes and New Release management for Layered Software / Access software (Citrix, etc.) * Configure, monitor and manage server operations in accordance with solution provider recommendations (e.g. disk space, CPU, Uptime, faults, etc.) * COOP & DR: Manage and maintain configuration at an alternate data center. Monitor the COOP/DR solution for continued successful data/code synchronization and backups (as applicable) *MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: * Typically 5 to 7 or more years of increasing responsibility in terms of any applicable professional experience. *PREFERRED EDUCATION: * Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus.
