Transportation RepresentativeJob DescriptionSince the doors opened in 1972, this factory has grown dramatically into a sustainable state-of-the-art facility. In 2013, we completed our largest solar project yet by installing a 450-kilowatt photovoltaic system of nearly 1,900 panels. The amount of energy produced annually by this solar array could power nearly 52 average-sized homes, or approximately 5,000 lights bulbs for an entire year. With sustainability and safety always top of mind, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo, Beneful, Cat Chow, Dog Chow, Fit & Trim, Friskies, Nestl Purina ONE and Pro Plan. This plant location is just along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta - an area that nearly 5 million residents and over 340 of our associates can call home. Atlanta is considered the major commercial and financial center of the Southeast and, if this beautiful city were a country, it would be the 28th largest economy in the world.As a Transportation Representative you will coordinate timely scheduling and tendering of outbound freight in accordance with customer delivery demands, corporate sales targets, and product supply availability. You will work with Purina corporate supply chain representatives, 3rd party carriers, our distribution centers, and our other plants to ensure Purina products are delivered to meet customer demand. This role will be responsible for selection and management of "least cost" carriers, scheduling and tracking loads for on-time delivery, and capturing appropriate reason codes on customer delivery information.Primary Responsibilities:Exceed Purina on-time pick-up and delivery expectations.Consistent and professional communication on handling and management of internal and external customers.Manage trailer availability and report trailer damage to carriers.Utilize SAP to process customer orders and screen for product availability.Appointment scheduling with shipper/ receiver and updating appropriate systems as needed.Communicate with Corporate CSR regarding product shortages and on-time delivery.Basic Qualifications:Education: High School Diploma or GED requiredExperience:1 years' experience directly coordinating inbound/outbound loads, dispatching, transportation coordination and/or customer service in carrier relations.1 years' experience with SAP, other ERP, or other Transportation Management Software required.It is our business imperative to remain a very inclusive workplace.To our veterans and separated service members, you're at the forefront of our minds as we recruit top talent to join Nestl Purina.
