Join a team that has the environment down to a science. **Your Opportunity** As a talented and ambitious Senior Ecologist/ Wildlife Biologist and Regulatory Specialist in our Calgary, AB office, you will be advising a multi-disciplinary technical team on environmental regulations across a variety of sectors, and providing mentorship for planning, data collection & analysis, and technical reporting. You will also work directly with clients and project management throughout the life of development projects. **Your Key Responsibilities** + Advising team members and clients on the application of environmental regulations, guidelines, and beneficial management practices across a variety of sectors + A recognized leader in your field of ecology/wildlife biology etc + Performing in a client-facing role providing guidance, solutions-focused counsel, and post-filing support as required + Advising team members and clients on existing and emerging wildlife regulations pertinent to our business + Writing and reviewing a variety of technical reports and environmental assessments in Alberta (and elsewhere in Canada) + Champion innovation and technology into the changing world of biophysical services + Coaching and mentoring intermediate and junior staff **Your Capabilities and Credentials** + Professionally accredited + 10-15 years of professional consulting experience demonstrating progressive responsibility. + Established working relationships with regulators + Demonstrated time-management skills and ability to deliver high-quality work products in a schedule-driven environment + Demonstrated understanding of the resource sectors in western Canada (oil and gas, pipelines, power) + Comfortable leading project teams on complex deliverables + Background in biophysical field work + Successful project management experience + Strong technical writing and speaking skills + Experience leading project teams to successful completion + Experience and willingness to act as expert witness at hearings + Understand and comfortable advising team members and clients on existing and emerging wildlife regulations pertinent to our business + Willingness to lead change and innovation into the changing world of biophysical services + Strong work ethic, sense of humour, and desire for team success. + Outstanding collaborator, committed to leveraging feedback into professional growth and improvement + Demonstrated experience with building client relations and developing business + Experience scoping and implementing ecological studies and ecological risk assessments + Thorough understanding of relevant provincial and federal regulations and guidelines, and proven record in their application + Experience developing and executing environmental study workplans for a variety of projects such as oil & gas, NEB regulated pipelines, renewables (wind and solar), urban developments **Education and Experience** Degree(s) in biology or conservation, environmental biology, ecology, and/or environmental sciences. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time with limited opportunity for field work.
