As a Front Desk Associate, you will be a key member of the Front Desk team, ensuring a seemingly effortless guest experience. What are we looking for? Hotel experience desired, but not a requirement. We are willing to train the right person for this position. What can we offer you? In addition to great pay, benefits, and awesome hotel stay discounts, we offer both full-time (30+ hours per week) and flexible part-time employment. Weekends can get pretty busy, so we do require weekend schedule availability to get started. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Core Responsibilities + Ensures every guest is greeted and Welcomed on arrival + Registers and book guests, verifying reservation, address, email address and credit information + Proficient on kiosk operations to assist when necessary + Answers all inbound calls in a professional manner + Has an intimate knowledge of the hotel facilities and the local geographic area + Accepts payment for guests’ accounts at the time of registration and at checkout + Maintains a house bank and make a deposit and accurate report of receipts daily + Processes all Retail transactions for the guest + Responsible for restocking and assuring overall cleanliness of Retail + Issues luggage claims and check guest luggage when requested + Takes pride in the overall look and feel of the hotel assuring cleanliness and conditions are at their peak at all times + Respectfully listen and respond to guest complaints in an efficient and professional manner + Completes additional duties as assigned 2. Customer Focus + Works as a team player and interacts with all internal and external customers in a friendly/efficient manner + All guests must be treated in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction + Always strive to exceed guest expectations and meet brand standards 3. Accountability + Produces required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing work duties + Adheres to Sherman Associates attendance policy, grooming and appearance standards, general work rules, and department procedures + Maintains a clean and safe work environment, follows all procedures for guests and employee incidents and is knowledgeable for hotel emergency procedures + Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding health and safety services + Attends all required department and hotel meetings Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Required Experience: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS + 1-2 years of experience in a customer service position + Customer service experience in the hospitality industry strongly preferred + Basic computer knowledge and some knowledge in word, excel, outlook, and internet + A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates + Schedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS + Must be able to stand at a desk for up to 8-hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task + Must have the ability to move around freely throughout the property and office, and necessity varies from day to day + Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis + Must be able to lift up to 25-30 lbs. occasionally + Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity Only applicants who complete our online application process will be considered.
