Weekends can get pretty busy, so we do require weekend schedule availability to get started. The Club Lounge Attendant is responsible for providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests from arrival to departure. The main focus is to engage every guest in conversation and recognition, as well as resolve any guest issues immediately while serving complementary food and beverage in the Preferred Guest Club Lounge. The Club Lounge Attendant must be knowledgeable and available to answer any guest inquiries regarding the city, events, and attractions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Core Responsibilities + Coordinates special events or special projects as assigned + Serves alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic beverages and food, in the Club Lounge + Checks identification of guests to ensure guests are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages + Cleans and maintains the serving space + Ensures safe and proper food handling techniques are followed + Problem-solves guest related issues + Responds to inquiries with accurate information regarding hotel features, services, and assistance. + Knowledgeable of daily functions, VIP’s and any other special events occurring in or pertaining to the hotel + Cleans and sanitizes work areas, utensils, and equipment + Cleans service and guest seating areas + Checks temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, and heating equipment to ensure proper functioning + Stocks customer self-service stations with paper products, snacks, and beverage preparation items + Completes other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs 2. Customer Focus + Works as a team player and interacts with all internal and external customers in a friendly/efficient manner + Treats all guests in a manner that ensures their complete satisfaction + Strives to exceed guest expectations and meet brand standards 3. Accountability + Produces required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing work duties + Adheres to Sherman Associates attendance policy, grooming and appearance standards, general work rules, and department procedures + Maintains a clean and safe work environment, follows all procedures for guests and employee incidents and is knowledgeable in hotel emergency procedures + Attends all required department and hotel meetings Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Starting Pay: $10.50/hour plus tips Required Experience: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS + Previous hotel/hospitality or related service industry experience is strongly preferred + Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environment + Must be able to pass required Alcohol service training + Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environment + A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates + Shifts may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel + Knowledge of Food Handler’s Illness guidelines WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates behind the bar and may be working in close proximity to co-workers. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping and tripping. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS + Must be able to sit or stand in designated work area throughout the day based on business needs + Must have the ability to move around freely throughout the designated work area + Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach tables and kitchen in a timely manner + Must be able to lift up to 25-30 lbs. frequently throughout shift, and lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally + Requires grasping, writing, sitting or standing, moving about freely, using computer, repetitive motions, bending, reaching, crouching, and communicating effectively + Must be willing and able to wash hands frequently throughout the shift This job advertisement is intended to provide information essential to understanding the scope of the position.
