We are seeking our next great leader to join our rooms team as a Housekeeping Supervisor What are we looking for? 2 years of experience in hotel housekeeping; ideally in a supervisory or lead capacity with training and inspections responsibilities. Weekends can get pretty busy, so we do require weekend schedule availability to get started. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Core Responsibilities + Partners with the Housekeeping Manager to recruit, develop, manage and monitor performance while making any recommendations for disciplinary actions + Monitors commercial laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are sufficient and in working order + Assists with training of employees and ensuring that they have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective job duties + Assists with scheduling and room cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage + May perform all housekeeping duties necessary including cleaning guest rooms and hotel public space to ensure guest satisfaction and owner expectations + Partners with the Housekeeping Manager to complete inventory and maintain par levels for linen and room supplies + Inspects all assigned guest rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, equipment, linens, and public areas are clean and in good repair to meet guest expectations + Completes other duties as assigned 2. Customer Focus + Works as a team player and interacts with all internal and external customers in a friendly/efficient manner + All guests must be treated in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction + Always strive to exceed guests’ expectations and meet brand standards 3. Accountability + Produces required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing work duties + Adheres to Sherman Associates attendance policy, grooming and appearance standards, general work rules, and department procedures + Maintains a clean and safe work environment, follows all procedures for guests and employee incidents and is knowledgeable for hotel emergency procedures + Attends all required department and hotel meetings Supervisory Responsibility As applicable, supervises, coaches, directs, trains and evaluates staff; Prepares and conducts employee reviews and completes timecard approvals. Required Experience: + High School or equivalent education required + The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years housekeeping experience with at least 6 months in housekeeping management at a supervisory or manager level + Reading and writing abilities are required in order to document tasks completed, to order supplies, to receive instructions for the day and/or to read equipment manuals including safety information + Must be able to communicate effectively in a multi-lingual workplace environment + Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance + A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates + Schedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel + Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding health and safety services WORK ENVIRONMENT + While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration + The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites + The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud + Exposure to/handling of biological substances such as blood, urine, and vomit PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS + Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis + Must be able to lift up to 50-lbs. on a regular and continuing basis + Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 200-lbs. on a regular and continuing basis + Requires frequent kneeling, squatting, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity + Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment This job advertisement is intended to provide information essential to understanding the scope of the position.
