Job Summary Surry Power Station is seeking a Senior Simulator Computer Specialist. Under general supervision, this expert role performs hardware maintenance, upgrades and design changes associated with simulator computers, control boards, I/O equipment and associated networks at Surry Nuclear Power Station. Coordinates with other IT personnel and nuclear training representatives to perform troubleshooting and analysis to isolate and resolve identified simulator discrepancies. May perform component modifications to interface standard plant components to the simulator in support of plant projects or simulator equipment upgrades. Performs upgrade and maintenance to simulator to maintain likeness to plant conditions. Performs testing daily to ensure simulator is ready to support training. Guides and advises less experienced Simulator Computer Specialists, as required. May be required to become a member of the Station Emergency Response Organization. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience 5 years of experience and expert knowledge of computer hardware, in-depth and expert knowledge of computer interface, I/O and network communication and in depth and expert knowledge of electronic circuity, design and fabrication. Must be able to set up and configure computer equipment, use test equipment, install or remove electronic components, terminate or solder cable and weld, cut, fabricate control board sections. Ability to apply logical processes and knowledge to perform integrated system troubleshooting. Ability to work in teams. Excellent troubleshooting and resolution skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to get along with others. Strong oral and written communication skills.
