Job Summary Dominion Energy is seeking a Technical Specialist II or Nuclear Technical Specialist III to join the Organizational Effectiveness team at the Dominion Surry Power Station in Surry, VA. This position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Technical Specialist II:With limited supervision and direction from the Supervisor Nuclear Corrective Action, the Technical Specialist II is competent in all duties associated with station performance improvement programs and initiatives including: corrective action program; operating experience program; human performance program; and self-assessment and benchmarking. Possible performance improvement assigned duties include: Corrective Action Coordinator, Cause Evaluation Coordinator, Operating Experience Coordinator, Self-Evaluation/Trend Coordinator, Human Performance Coordinator, Benchmark/Self-Assessment Coordinator, INPO Coordinator, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Coordinator. Associated duties may include but are not limited to the following: + Assist station personnel in the use and execution of performance improvement programs + Assign corrective actions, monitor progress and ensure assignments have been adequately addressed + Perform corrective action trending and initiate corrective actions based on the identified trends + Prepares department self-evaluation meeting presentations and coordinates the self-evaluation program + Mentor subject matter experts in preparation of industry operating experience reports + Collection and analysis of human performance data for metrics, performance indicators, and recommendations for corrective action when adverse trends are identified. + Assist, monitor, and mentor the department performance improvement coordinators + Maintain station and department key performance indicators and assist with identification of trends Technical Specialist III: Capable of completing all routine assignments and tasks without direct supervision and direction, the Technical Specialist III is the senior position in the Organizational Effectiveness group. This role is fully competent in all duties associated with station performance improvement and can lead complex assignments and initiatives. Possible performance improvement assigned duties include: Corrective Action Coordinator, Cause Evaluation Coordinator, Operating Experience Coordinator, Self-Evaluation/Trend Coordinator, Human Performance Coordinator, Benchmark/Self-Assessment Coordinator, INPO Coordinator, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Coordinator. Associated duties may include but are not limited to the following: + All associated duties of Technical Specialist II + Oversight and implementation of the station’s Corrective Action Program (CAP) + Oversight and implementation of the station’s Operating Experience (OE) Program + Oversight and implementation of the station’s Trending/Self-evaluation Program + Oversight and implementation of the station’s Human Performance (HU) Program + Oversight and implementation of the station’s Work Observation Program (WOBS) + Oversight and implementation of the station’s Self-assessment and Benchmark activities + Work with station leadership on various projects and presentations + Support fleet and industry working groups for performance improvement initiatives Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience Nuclear Technical Specialist II: + 3 years related experience required; Preferred 3-4+ years engineering, operations, or technical background + High school degree or GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. A combination of education and nuclear power plant experience in a technical or analytical role may be substituted for degree. + General knowledge of plant systems and operations + Knowledge of corrective action program and human performance fundamentals + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Excellent analytical and abstract thinking skills + Ability to process information quickly and be a problem-solver + Ability to perform multiple tasks and respond to changing priorities + Ability to work in a team environment + Perform cause analysis to determine the most probable cause of problems and undesired events + Demonstrate strong customer service orientation and high degree of ownership + Fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point Nuclear Technical Specialist III: + 5 years related experience required; Preferred 5-6 + years engineering, operations, or technical background + High school degree or GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
