Sterile Processing Technician Full-time varied / 8-hour varied shifts The Sterile Processing (SP) Technician is responsible for supporting the operations of the Sterile Processing Department of the Hospital. The Sterile Processing Technician will participate in the all activities/duties of the Department by following policy and procedure for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization and storage of all patient care instrumentation, equipment and supplies. Performs tasks in decontamination, assembly of instruments, sterilization, and may work in sterile cores of the Operating rooms. Participates in the departmental patient safety and performance improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Prefer formalized training in Sterile Processing Techniques by an accredited institution.
Experience: Prefer 1 year experience in Sterile Processing.
License/Certification: Within twelve (12) months of hire, must pass the Certified Registered Central Services Tech (CRCST) exam. Once obtained, the certification must be maintained.
