DNV GL – Energy division is seeking a Solar Energy Analyst to join our Energy Assessment Team. The primary function of this position is to assess the resource and expected energy output of proposed and operational renewable solar projects across North America.

This position may be based in any of our Renewables Advisory DNV GL North American offices. Preferred locations Austin, TX; Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; San Diego, CA; Medford, MA; Katy, TX or Oakland, CA
Tasks May Include
+ Conduct long-term resource and energy production assessments:
+ Analyzing climatic data and operational production and performance data from solar plants,
+ Inspecting sites and measurement equipment,
+ Assessing site conditions for technology suitability,
+ Predicting energy production,
+ Conducting statistical uncertainty analyses,
+ Writing technical reports and communicating results to clients.

+ Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering, atmospheric science, or quantitative field.
+ Master’s degree is a plus.
+ Minimum 1 year of experience in the renewable energy industry required. 1 plus year in solar energy consulting experience preferred
+ Proficient working with MS Office Word/Excel
+ Experience in statistical data analysis
+ Understanding of renewable energy industry measurement techniques and standards
+ Experience working with data analysis tools (Python, R, SQL, Matlab, etc.)
+ Strong overall computer skills and ability to learn multiple software tools required
+ Proficiency with PVSyst preferred
+ Thorough knowledge of various mapping tools and map formats is a plus
+ Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
+ Ability to write technical reports and commercial correspondence
+ Ability to present technical information clearly and concisely
+ Proven Health, Safety and Environmental mindset
+ Willingness and ability to travel, up to 10% of the time
+ Meet physical requirements such as sitting for long periods of time when working in the office and ability and willingness to occasionally be exposed to outside weather conditions when travelling to assigned project site locations (typical travel time is approximately 3 days every 2-4 months)
+ Strong written and verbal English communication skills
+ We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening
