As part ofthe Construction Monitoring team, the Electrical Field Observer will beresponsible for observation, monitoring, and documentation of the workperformed in the field by construction and contracting crews. coordinating andoverseeing daily work tasks for a diverse team of Field Observers. TheElectrical Field Observer will report directly to an Ulteig resourcemanager, as well as to the Construction Monitoring Manager of all assignedprojWhat You'll DoThe incumbent will be part of a team that inspects and documents utility,large-scale wind and solar energy, or other energy related constructionprojects, in accordance with the owner's requirements and contractdocuments and assists the Construction Monitoring Manager in on-siteresolution of construction related issues as they are identified. This willrequire coordination with construction monitoring and project management teamsas needed. This position is field-based and requires extended travel.Observe construction of electrical substations, transmission lines andmedium voltage underground cable installationTrack and report project / construction progress and statusWork closely with owner, project management team, contractor managementteam, owner's engineers and utilitiesEnsure adherence to Safety policiesEnsure adherence to client's Quality Control and Quality Assurance programsReport non-conformance issues in coordination with QA/QCReview and adhere to environmental management planWhat We Expect from You:Minimum of 2 years of Comparable Field Experience2-5 years of related experience preferredExperience working with utility and/or renewable substation, transmissionline and/or underground medium voltage projects, preferably utility scaleprojeAbility to work independentlyAbility to read and understand construction drawings and constructionspecifications/manualsAbility to read and understand construction and procurement contractsAbility to read and understand project schedules and Gantt chartsKnowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office,Project/Primavera and ProCoreFamiliarity with GIS database systems and applicationsStrong math skillsExcellent interpersonal skills, including conflict negotiation/resolutionand stakeholder engagementAbility to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships withowners' representatives, contractors, vendors and others on and off thejob siteAbility to work approximately 90% in the field, nights, weekends, andmore than 40 hours per weekMust have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.What You Can Expect from UlteigFor 75 years, we've built a culture focused on people - both our clientsand our employees.
