Job Title: Analyst - Regulatory & Tariffs

Department: Regulatory

Reports to: Manager - Regulatory Services
Location: In Office, Orange CT

The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $70,992 - $88,740

Job Summary

PURA Docket Management, Regulatory Communications, Regulatory Compliance Filings, calendaring and tracking filing requirements, Discovery project management. Partner with internal (Legal, SMEs) & External (Company consultants, PURA) stakeholders.

Major Roles and Responsibilities

Rate Case Discovery Project Management:

  • Partnering with Legal & SME business areas (Witness Panels)

  • Manage large/confidential/redacted files

  • Manage both high volume and high-risk information

  • Presenting, creating agendas, running/scheduling meetings

Regulatory Compliance Filings:

  • Work with SME business areas + Legal to make on-time filings

  • Includes advanced filings with detailed Regulatory processes & checklists

PURA Docket Management:

  • Regulatory email communications via shared inbox

  • Calendaring & tracking filing requirements

SAP/Procurement Invoices Payment:

  • Process internal/external consultant invoices in a timely fashion

  • Improve process with Manager, over time

Master + Improve UIL Regulatory Team shared:

  • Processes

  • Templates

  • Trackers

  • Find efficiencies & improvements for team, over time

  • Research & interpretation

Job Requirements

Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated analytical capabilities, problem solving abilities and organizational skills on complex business matters

  • Strong focus. Strong oral, written, and listening skills

  • Skillful judgement dealing with complex business issues

  • Demonstrated advanced understanding of the interrelationships of SME business areas, internal & external legal teams, external consultants, PURA/OCC/EOE/DEEP

  • Demonstrated strong teamwork skills

  • Agility, adaptability

  • Ability to work flexible, longer hours during Rate Case season

  • Ability to work both fast and accurate

Experience/Training:

  • 4 years of related experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory processes

  • Proficiency in computer software, especially Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI, Outlook, Teams) Sharepoint, Content Server and SAP

Required Education:

Master’s degree. An advanced degree may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree AND several (4+) years of experience.
