Description

In the Solar Site Analysis & Sales Intern position, you are first point of contact for many of Real Goods Solar's residential customers, and you are responsible for eliciting interest in solar and qualifying leads for the sale of residential PV systems. The Solar Site Analysis & Sales Intern is responsible for educating homeowners about their accessibility of solar energy and for embodying the goals and vision that define Real Goods.

In this position, you will learn to become an authority in qualifying aspects of solar design and purchase for residential homes such as site characteristics, customer motivations, rate plans and utilities. The ideal candidate must have a high degree of maturity, be a team player, be able to maintain high productivity, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be willing to work evenings and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Educate potential customers about accessibility to solar energy and overcome common objections
  • Determine suitability of sites using proprietary tools and satellite technology.
  • Exceed set targets and work in a fast paced environment.
  • Deal effectively with all inquiries and represent Real Goods Solar in a professional manner.
  • Schedule on-site consultations over the phone for our solar power consultants
  • Track daily activities in Salesforce.com

Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or on track to complete.
  • Previous sales experience is preferred.
  • Previous knowledge of solar power is preferred.
  • Proven track record in working in a metrics target driven environment.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and excellent telephone and follow-up skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Previous experience carrying a sales or production target
  • Self-motivated; ability to work under pressure and in an evolving work environment
  • Illustrate an outgoing personality and demonstrate personal confidence
  • Great team-spirit
  • Commitment of 32-40 hours per week
  • Be proficient with MS Office and Salesforce.com
  • Initially a 3-month internship with the possibility for long-term retention with full benefits – dependent on job performance and the staffing needs of the organization.
