Description

 

You will be responsible for defining, developing, and releasing DC electrical and SCADA integrated solutions for the utility grade photovoltaic power plants of the future. The role will be integral to continuing Selectric's track record of continuous innovation with focus on the North American market.
 
Specific Responsibilities:
 
  • Lead the design, integration and optimization of Power Conversion Station equipment (inverters, transformers, combiners, disconnects, auxiliary power units, SCADA components)
  • Contribute to the electrical engineering design of solar photovoltaic products and components
  • Actively participate in the development and evolution of key industry standards (NEC, IEEE, UL, IEC , AINSI)
  • Develop technology roadmaps and effectively communicate to suppliers
  • Manage new product design initiatives across the global organization
  • Produce AutoCAD drawings for electrical equipment design
  • Create Bill of Materials for electrical assemblies
  • Support internal test and verification efforts by assisting in writing test procedures and validating testing process
 
Experience Required:
 
  • 3-5 years' experience in PV or related industry with hands on electrical design experience
  • Deep working knowledge of relevant industry standards (NEC, IEEE, UL, IEC, ANSI)
  • AutoCAD proficiency (Inventor preferred)
  • Knowledge of wiring methods and components (conduit, fittings, enclosures)
  • Field experience a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings a must
  • Practical experience in test engineering preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Willingness to take ownership of product design initiatives
  • Self-motivated with a desire to work in a small, energetic team
  • Excellent PC computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (particularly analysis with Excel)
  • Must demonstrate strong engineering, design, and communication skills, and an ability to work in a dynamic team environment to think outside the box and solve traditional problems in new ways
Education Required: BS degree in Electrical Engineering
