Description

The Technical Review Specialits is responsible for reviewing all Energy Specialist work scopes for accuracy and completeness, responding to questions about failed tech review and resolution options.  The Inspector handles all calls coming through the Contractor Hot Line related to Energy Specialist work scopes that are in-process.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform complete and accurate quality assurance technical review of Energy Specialists work scopes to verify that all specifications comply with program requirements.
  • Document findings of each technical review, notifying and collaborating with appropriate personnel who need to assist with resolution.
  • Provide technical guidance to both Energy Specialists and contractors, addressing program or residential construction needs or problems.  Provide support to them in addressing issues related to retrofit insulation work in the Mass Save program
  • Partner with Energy Specialist administrative team to ensure that contracted work is processed through the system in a timely manner.
  • Develop a monthly training agenda with Energy Specialist Field Manager, and present topics at monthly crew meetings.
  • Answer calls on the Contractor Hot Line related to work scopes that are in process, providing resolution and making necessary changes in EM Home.  Send out new work orders to contractors and notify customers of new cost.
  • Respond to last minute problem jobs which require an inspector to be onsite to assist the contractor and customer complete the work scope.
  • Enter all required program data accurately, providing timely reporting of program progress by tracking all technical reviews and Contractor Hotline calls completed daily.
  • Mentor new contractors in air sealing insulation and combustion safety.
  • Conduct standard inspections occasionally, to verify that the energy efficiency measures or equipment have been installed to program quality standards.  May perform some diagnostic testing, including blower door and combustion safety testing.
  • Maintain current knowledge on latest program initiatives, policies, procedures, etc., and propose ideas for improvement. 

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.  BPI credential in BA and/or envelope certifications.
  • 5-7 years experience in building diagnostics, air infiltration reduction and sidewall and attic insulation.
  • Advanced customer service and client relationship management skills and enthusiasm for energy conservation. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate and educate technical and program concepts to contractors, customers, Energy Specialists and other interested people or organizations.
  • Attention to details while reviewing insulation retrofit work specifications.
  • Computer proficiency, experience with Windows-based office applications required. Familiarity with computerized energy modeling software a plus.
  • Occasional local or regional travel required. 

 

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
