Description

CSG seeks a full-time Senior Account Manager to support its Low-rise Residential New Construction Programs, managed from its Albany, NY office.

 

The Albany office is responsible for implementing the Low-rise Residential New Construction Program for NYSERDA, inclusive of the New York ENERGY STAR® Certified Homes Program, delivering energy efficiency, health and safety, improved comfort, and increased home value to new home buyers in New York State.

 

The Senior Account Manager will ensure positive and proactive partner relationships with residential new construction marketplace stakeholders by developing, facilitating, and nurturing business relationships, training and providing guidance on programmatic, operational, technical, and marketing issues.  The Senior Account Manager drives program success by pursuing new and extended partnership opportunities involving participating Builders, Developers, HERS raters, HVAC contractors, and other entities.

 

While this position reports to the Albany office, the Senior Account Manager will be expected to travel 50% of the time throughout NY state.  This position requires flexibility in scheduling, access to reliable transportation and some overnight travel as well.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Increases program participation by identifying builders/developers, qualifying them as potential program prospects, and developing them into program partners.
  • Manages builder, customer, HERS Rater, and Program Partner relationships. Presents program goals and opportunities, develops/facilitates/nurtures business relationships, and explains technical/operational issues to customers, participating builders, and program partners.  Develops industry and client relationships beyond assigned accounts/territory.
  • Works with program managers to establish performance goals for participating builders and monitor progress toward goals.
  • Stays current on latest Program initiatives, policies, procedures, etc. and proposing ideas for improvement.  Develops advanced knowledge related to energy efficient new construction marketing and sales techniques and trains other staff members.  Develops technical knowledge in energy efficiency and building science and works closely with Technical Staff to resolve Partner issues. 
  • Track and enter all required program data in an accurate and timely manner.  Provides proper and timely reporting of program progress to be shared with the Client.  Attends client meetings as necessary to provide verbal and written report on marketplace.
  • Ensures Program Partners are aware of all current program guidelines, incentives and requirements and are properly equipped and trained to participate in the program.
  • Work closely with Technical staff to provide Partner training, in classroom or one-on-one as needed.  Develop training materials and marketing guidelines for new program offerings.  Work closely with Client’s marketing group and contractor to provide substantive feedback on proposed marketing initiatives.
  • Makes public presentations at industry/trade conferences and promotes program and CSG.  Recognized as industry expert.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years experience selling or managing projects in the fields of residential home construction, home improvement, or HVAC; or 3-4 years administering energy conservation marketing programs.
  • Strong client relationship management skills and enthusiasm for energy conservation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate marketing, technical, and program concepts to builders/developers, consumers, and other interested people or organizations.
  • Excellent people skills, very good presentation and writing skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Expertise in residential construction marketplace issues, residential marketing/sales techniques, and energy efficient residential construction and building science
  • Familiarity with computerized building energy modeling software such as REM/Rate is preferred, ResCheck and Home Check, Manual J, or other residential construction software preferred, but not required.

 

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
