The Senior Manager will be part of an energy efficiency team; responsible for all duties as they relate to: client communication, budget and contract management, analytics and forecasting, staff management and day-to-day program operations and planning. The ideal candidate will be a proven self-starter with the ability to stay calm in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This position is based in Fluid Market Strategies’ office in downtown Portland, Oregon.

Requirements

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Program Development and Oversight
    • Provide key technical and operational guidance on key program materials and documents.
    • Manage and budget to ensure contract compliance.
    • Meet and manage project deliverables to high-quality standards, budget and timeline.
    • Recommend new processes to continually improve program quality and design.
    • Develop and manage savings and performance metrics.
    • Engage program participants on a quarterly basis to facilitate two-way communication between the program and customer service representatives, trade allies and partners.
    • Conduct regular meetings with clients.

 

  • Budget Management and Forecasting
    • Track projects to schedule, budget and periodic objectives.
    • Develop and track program performance metrics.
    • Accurately forecast spending and revenues for assigned programs and portfolios.
    • Monitor and forecast profitability of projects and programs.
    • Report status to stakeholders on a regular basis.

 

  • Quality Control Oversight
    • Provide key technical and operational guidance on quality control process, implementation manuals, process flows, implementation strategies and required analytics.

 

  • Reporting
    • Develop, review and monitor status reports prepared by Program Managers.
    • Prepare timely, accurate and meaningful project reports for management, the client or others.
    • Support all client reports and information requests as needed.

 

  • Staff and Subcontractor Management
    • Establish and manage work plans for Program Managers and subcontractors for each phase of the programs, assigning duties, responsibilities and scope of authority.
    • Responsible for staff recruitment or project assignment efforts.
    • Provide performance reviews.
    • Interface with key internal departments such as IT, Marketing, Finance and HR.

 

  • Internal Leadership
    • Carry out the company mission and vision and lead others by example.
    • Participate in business development efforts by anticipating future needs of existing clients or recognizing and creating opportunities for new business.
    • Maintain current knowledge of industry practices.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years relevant experience in energy efficiency, renewable energy or a related field.
  • 5 years relevant experience as a Program Manager in energy efficiency, renewable energy or related field.
  • Experience managing staff, internal teams, external subcontractors and vendors.
  • Understanding of financial statements, budgets and resource allocation.
  • Strong presentation and technical writing skills. Marketing experience desired.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Technical competencies in residential building science preferred.
