CSG is seeking a full-time Senior Data Analyst to work in our Albany, New York location, to assist in the daily operations of the Mid-Atlantic Applications Support department.  The successful candidate will work in tandem with other Applications Support team members, and Corporate Information Systems personnel to manage and coordinate the database support functions of the many Regional Programs in order to maintain data integrity, prepare regular reports for clients, perform special analyses in a timely fashion upon request from  clients, and provide feedback to CSG’s IS team on opportunities to improve and evolve the system in keeping with the demands of  clients and changing program requirements.


Responsibilities:

Working under the direction of the Mid-Atlantic Applications Support Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day functions of database operations ensuring compliance with various program requirements
  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly, quarterly and annual reports and develop new reports on an ad hoc basis
  • Work with IS team to automate the import of data into the system and the export of data from the system to external client databases
  • Provide database support to administrative staff responsible for the oversight of project work, in order to ensure consistent and accurate data entry and storage
  • Develop and manage data analysis systems for a variety of tasks, activities and reports
  • Using existing database structures, drive the appearance and functionality of custom software applications to track, error check and report data to users
  • Participate in development, implementation and maintenance of data policies, objectives and short-and long-range planning, providing a critical interface between project staff and software developers
  • Obtain business requirements and translate into technical specifications
  • Develop project plans encompassing all phases of work (scoping, implementation, testing/QC, deployment)
  • Interact and coordinate with management to identify and address risks or problems with current database structures, processes and procedures
  • Implement departmental QC processes
  • Provide backup support to the department manager
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in a Business Analyst role
  • 5+ years experience using PL/SQL and writing PL/SQL scripts
  • 5 years of previous project management experience
  • Superior working skills in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Access, Visio, and MS Project
  • Good technical documentation skills
  • Skilled in utilizing IS solutions to re-engineer procedures to improve the efficiency of operations
  • Ability to initiate, coordinate and prioritize responsibilities and follow through on tasks and projects
  • Sharp attention to detail, excellent organizational and self-directed skills
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in an environment of frequent and often short deadlines
  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Three to five years demonstrated experience in database management
  • Advanced Excel and Access skills including advanced formulas, macros, and VBA programming
  • Experience in statistical analysis and the ability to use statistics to drive policy decisions
  • Experience in energy efficiency program administration or building trades

 

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
