The District of Columbia Sustainable Energy Utility (DC SEU) was created to design, develop, and deliver energy efficiency and renewable energy services to District households, businesses, and institutions. We are committed to delivering these services by recruiting, hiring, and training local District residents.

The Community Relations Manager (CRM) will develop and implement community-based programs to build awareness of the DCSEU’s programs and initiatives and of the value of energy efficiency, achieve energy savings and support development of sustainable green collar jobs in the District of Columbia. The CRM will work with community-based organizations, associations and key influencers to determine the needs of local constituencies and work with other DCSEU program leaders to shape programs and initiatives that address those needs. In addition, the CRM will develop a plan for DCSEU’s participation in community-based events and speaking opportunities, including overseeing event staff, presenting and working with marketing and other DCSEU staff to develop messaging and collateral. The CRM may design and implement coordinated community-based energy efficiency efforts, develop and write grant proposals, and evaluate the success of various community-based efficiency programs. The CRM will work with the Managing Director and other key DCSEU staff to develop and meet goals and metrics for the program.

Requirements

  • Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of DC SEU.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of community outreach experience or a similar combination of education and experience.
  • Management experience including staff supervision, contract and budget management, communications and the ability to demonstrate goal development and attainment.
