Description

CSG is seeking a part-time Energy Specialist to work on Nantucket Island. This position will have flexible hours and work days.

 

  • Conduct and complete home energy assessments in residential homes, entering attics, basements and crawl spaces for customers according to the scheduling requirements of the program.
  • Conduct combustion safety testing and infrared scanning to evaluate existing conditionsvand report recommendations for energy efficiency improvements.
  • Determinevexisting insulation levels in both attics, walls and basements.
  • Conduct visual checks of age and condition of HVAC and DHW equipment and heating distribution systems.
  • Install instant savings measures such as compact fluorescent lamps and other energy savings devices as defined by the program.
  • Complete a detailed and accurate data collection form to generate list of recommended retrofits.
  • Create detailed work specification for air sealing and insulation needs.
  • Generate computerized report for the customer. Track and enter all required program data
    in an accurate and timely manner on program forms and in CSG’s software
    application. Provides proper and timely reporting of program progress.
  • Interact with homeowners and tenants, answering questions regarding energy efficiency and recommend next steps.
  • Collect the customer’s co-pays and deposits as applicable for the completion of the work.
  • Promotes energy saving measures recommended based on the home energy assessment. Promotes specific
    savings measures identified and secures contracts to perform the work. Explain incentives and/or loans, and tax credits for energy efficiency improvements that may be available.
  • Provides technical guidance to contractors on addressing program or residential construction needs or problems. Supports or assists contractors in addressing issues onsite in
    customer homes. May conduct training of contractors or specialists on building science or program requirements.
  • Stays current on latest Program initiatives, policies, procedures, etc. and proposing ideas for
    improvement. Develops advanced technical knowledge in energy efficiency and building science.

Requirements

  • Must live on Nantucket island
  • BPI Cerification required
  • BS in building science, construciton or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years in residntial construction, energy conservation, HVAC, building diagnostics
  • Strong customer service, sales and client relationship management skills and enthusiasm for energy conservation. Ability to effectively communicate technical and program concepts to contractors, consumers, and other interested people or organizations. Ability to work independently.
  • Dependable transportation required.

 

 

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
