The Outside Solar Sales Consultant will be a driven, self starter with a passion for the solar industry, desiring to help take a fast growing solar development firm to regional prominence. He/she will generate sales proposals and presentations to a wide array of customers and manage sales activities to ensure a robust pipeline of prospective clients.

Solect Energy Development, LLC headquartered in Hopkinton, MA is experiencing accelerated growth in the very dynamic renewable energy industry. We are opening a position for an Outside Solar Sales Consultant on our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategically focus sales activities with commercial, light industrial and municipal entities, build credibility as a trusted solar consultant and generate revenues through the sale of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services provided by Solect
  • Utilize online tools and conduct preliminary site evaluations to develop an initial system design to provide the customer with a visual example of how a solar system will look on their facility
  • Responsible for post-installation follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Proactive networker, responsible for generating a robust business referral network.  
  • Manage and develop a pipeline of contacts and opportunities within an assigned territory
  • Drive revenue to achieve goals
  • Create professional sales proposals
  • Other duties as necessary to ensure sales production quota is achieved
  • Diligently maintain necessary reporting metrics in


Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum two years face-to-face solar or related sales experience
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to speak to business owners about the benefits of solar
  • Collaborative style with internal and external customers
  • Strong technical acumen, including technical and economic aspects of solar and other high-tech products and services
  • Highly confident, ethical and goal oriented
  • Self–starter with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently

Physical Requirements

  • Employee must be able to walk customer’s property which may include varying terrain
  • Employee must be able to carry up to 20 pounds of equipment, including solar analysis device, laptop, printer and binder
  • Employee may take measurements from ground using telescoping solar analysis device
