Appliance Depot is a nonprofit environmental and job training organization that salvages, repairs, and sells used appliances. Our parent nonprofit, ReUse Works, is an active member of Sustainable Connections, a business network of locally owned independent business committed to building a sustainable local economy. Our niche is working toward zero waste. The general manager manages daily operations and coaches low income trainees in all aspects of the business. Duties include coordinating work flow, conducting sales, training and evaluating workers, maintaining good working relationships with partner organizations, managing inventory and supplies, etc. The manager also participates in all work activities, including loading and unloading of appliances, cleaning, recycling, sales, etc.
Must be committed to the values of waste reduction and empowerment of low income workers. Must have a bachelors degree or equivalent. Must have minimum of three years in customer service/sales, production, and worker supervision. Must be able to lift 100 lbs. and move appliances using a hand dolly. Must have or be able to acquire a valid Washington drivers license.
