Description

CSG’s Training Services group is responsible for all training and development needs for all internal employees within CSG, our Program Partners and open market customers. Training Services also provides services to our marketing department in the form of digital video filming and editing. Reporting to the Director of Training Services, the Senior Instructional Designer will support CSG’s initiatives, employee learning and our external training segment through the design, development and facilitation of high quality curriculum, communications, and web-based solutions. The Senior Instructional Designer will ensure solutions follow sound instructional design and evaluation principles while aligning with CSG’s strategic direction.

Responsibilities:

  • Following industry standard instructional design practices
  • Preparing clear learning objectives that reflect the required performance
  • Consulting with SMEs and others to create instructor led, self study, and online instructional content that effectively engages the learner
  • Staying current with building science principles, theories and best practices
  • Delivering a variety of subject matter including business skills, relationship management, and building science topics.
  • Responsible for conducting highly interactive classroom sessions; conveying complex conceptual information in a concise and understandable manner; effectively using anecdotes, humor, analogies, and examples to engage participants; explain complex/dry concepts, and adapting style and pace based on audience needs.
  • Design, implement, and manage ongoing training programs for CSG. Services include conducting training needs assessments, designing competency models and curriculum maps, defining specifications for training programs, designing and developing instruction, identifying appropriate external programs, training delivery and evaluation.
  • Develop solutions that follow best practices and standards, and allow for reuse with minor customization as needed.
  • Bolster Training Services’ strategy and ongoing effectiveness

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design and/or Building Science/Sustainable Design, Masters preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 6-10 yrs of experience in project management, curriculum design/development, and training delivery
  • In-depth knowledge of instructional design and development processes, media strategies, and evaluation methods
  • Knowledge of Building Science and Energy Efficiency or related subject matter
  • Excellent presentation/facilitation skills
  • Creative problem solver, excellent interpersonal (verbal/written) skills
  • Strong knowledge of business communication and customer service techniques
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
 

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
