Description

Our client is a leading solar developer and is actively seeking to recruit for a Project Developer.  The Project Developer will be responsible in leading and driving sales and project development activities and will manage a small team. He/She will interact and work with potential customers to define requirements for and the design of commercial PV systems.  He/she will also be intimately involved in financing issues.

Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Identify key players and potential clients, and expand opportunities across government, commercial and institutional segments.
  • Formulate sales strategies to increase revenue and profitability goals.
  • Generate leads and opportunities via market penetration strategies.
  • Build and manage relationships with potential customers and existing partners.
  • Participate in site evaluations and discuss potential solar opportunity to clients.
  • Generate proposals, quotes, and formal RFP responses.
  • Understand renewable energy incentives applicable to projects.
  • Perform financial analysis of potential projects.
  • Negotiate contracts and financial agreements with clients.
  • Develop projects from inception to executed contract.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or any business discipline
  • 3+ years solar experience on the commercial/institutional level
  • Intimate familiarity with PPAs and project financing
  • Thorough understanding of renewable energy policies, incentives and business models
  • Background on project development and/or operations of solar projects
  • Demonstrated success in closing deals and projects
  • Should reside in a driving distance to NY (not required, but a plus)
