Description

juwi Wind, LLC is a subsidiary of the juwi Group, a major international developer of renewable energy projects.  juwi Group has been designing, building and operating plants that harness renewable energy since 1996, and to date juwi Group has installed approximately 700 wind turbines worldwide at 100 sites, producing a total output of approximately 1400MW.   juwi Wind, LLC is based in Boulder, Colorado.

At present, juwi Wind has an excellent opportunity for an Accountant/Senior Accountant based in our Boulder, CO headquarters office. 

The Accountant/Senior Accountant is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly financial statement close process, performing general ledger analysis, variance analysis and financial statement preparation.  The Accountant/Senior Accountant will also make recommendations on budget issues and advises and provides technical support in preparing budgets.  The Accountant/Senior Accountant will also prepare various federal, state, local tax returns/forms/filings as needed. 

As an Accountant/Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversees, performs and manages full cycle general ledger functions for assigned companies for month end close
    • Reviews and prepares monthly journal entries
    • Reviews sales invoice entry
    • Oversees and reviews vendor invoice entry
    • Research and variance analysis
  • Interprets complex accounting data, and ensures appropriate coding to chart of accounts, project, departmental, and company coding
  • Interprets and applies GAAP hierarchy and standards as well as the company’s guiding principles to entries and reconciliations
  • Reviews and prepares balance sheet reconciliations for company and audit support
  • Identifies gaps and risks, and makes recommendations on specific accounting treatments
  • Interprets the company’s corporate and entity structure, and dispositions accounting transactions based on entity structure
  • Provides daily analysis as required for internal management
  • Reviews and assists with the monthly project management reporting and variance analysis
  • Reviews and assists with the intercompany reconciliation and quarterly reporting package to German parent company
  • Assists with budget and forecast reporting to German parent company
  • Review and enter data into German parent company data systems monthly
  • Assists with monthly liquidity planning to parent company
  • Downloads and prepares journal entries for the purchase card bi-monthly cycles for timely employee reconciliations and manager approvals
  • Assists with preparing employee project time for allocation to development projects
  • Prepares various annual, quarterly, and as needed, federal, state, local tax returns/forms/fillings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in accounting.  5+ years of relevant accounting experience with at least 3 years in Public Accounting, preferred (national or regional firms)
  • Experience with general accounting, account reconciliation, journal entry preparation, sales and vendor invoice entry a must
  • Financial Statement preparation and analysis experience required
  • Excellent critical thinking skills required; discreet judgment necessary to disposition and interpret complex and sophisticated data
  • Experience in preparing and filing federal, state and local tax returns/forms is required with Canadian tax filing preferred
  • Demonstrated excellence in the following areas:

  • Proficiency in various Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Excel, and Word required, with advanced knowledge of Excel required.  PowerPoint a plus

  • Travel 0-10%
