My client is a global leader of development, construction and operation of large utility scale solar farms, having produced over 1GW of solar projects worldwide. Due to their continued success they are rapidly expanding internationally and as a result are currently searching for a Planning and Development Manager for their UK operations. 

 

Position Overview:

A creative and passionate leader with a track record in business development, through exploring new market opportunities and developing strong client relationships to build an extensive network within the UK market. This position will work closely and collaboratively with the leadership team to accelerate the growth of our global, industry-leading renewable organisation. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Head up the business development team responsible for the origination, development and sales of international large scale solar photovoltaic (PV) projects up to financial close
  • Identify, assess and create business development opportunities
  • Assessing profitability of projects and successful development including the preparation of land for construction
  • Identification of project sites, land procurement, licensing
  • Feasibility studies (site qualification, etc.)
  • Project negotiations

 

Education:

  • Educated to BSc/MSc level in Engineering or related degree

 

Core Requirements:

  • Must have extensive experience in identifying and assessing business development opportunities
  • Have a strong knowledge of project financing
  • Must have excellent negotiation skills
  • Have experience in conducting market analysis and identifying new opportunities.

 

General Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Desire to work for an international company
