PECO Smart House Call Program Outreach Specialist ‘s  primary responsibilities are to educate, inspire, and engage the PECO territory and organizations in the PECO Smart House Call program.


This candidate will be responsible for growing program participation, building program support to help ensure
long term program sustainability, and build community awareness in residential energy efficiency.


Qualified candidates will have a background and experience in performing community and social services-related work with excellent writing and reporting skills. Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills are essential.


This position will be based in the PECO Smart House Call Plymouth Meeting, PA office and requires multi-county travel. Knowledge of the PECO territories communities and major organizations as well as residential energy efficiency and conservation programs is preferred.


Primary responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to all efforts to build brand awareness and increase customer engagement
  • Develop a detailed knowledge of customers and markets
  • Develop, coordinate and conduct event, outreach and canvassing opportunities to network and promote PECO Smart House Call program
  • Present and promote PECO Smart House Call at community events and information tables
  • Increase program participation by developing relationships with supporting organizations
  • Identify new relationships, partnerships, and marketing opportunities
  • Inspire and engage membership of organizations to participate in PECO Smart House Call and provide program assistance
  • Network with municipalities and organizations to leverage support in promoting the program
  • Develop volunteer network and motivate them to provide outreach/canvassing
  • Coordinate with other environmental organizations in the Counties on joint campaign efforts
  • Set up presentations, coordinate event logistics, compile and distribute materials county-wide
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service
  • Establish excellent communications with and be responsive to clients, internal staff, participating contractors, and regional and local community groups
  • Ensure positive Program Experience by developing, facilitating, and nurturing consumer relationships
  • Provide general office assistance tasks for the PECO Smart House Call Team
  • Assist in the development plans that will promote overall success and growth of the program
  • Proactively bring an ongoing stream of new ideas to the program team and client

Job Requirements

You should be comfortable with and know the following to perform all tasks outlined above. Desired qualifications include:

  • BS/BA or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Interest in and basic understanding of residential energy efficiency
  • Excellent organization and self-direction
  • Excellent communications, customer service and organizational skills
  • 3-5 years experience working with community groups
  • 3-5 years experience working with volunteers and building a support network for program
  • 5+ years customer service experience
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Strong verbal, writing and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of work
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced team environment
  • Demonstrated experience initiating, coordinating and prioritizing responsibilities


Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
