Description

The Grocery Associate Account Manager (AAM) is the main point of contact and manager of a range of Key Account customers. The AAM will coordinate projects including serving as the expert on program terms and conditions, processes, and metrics.  The AAM will drive retrofit project activity with 3-10 Key Accounts, generating energy savings by building strong relationships with these customers and customers’ agents, providing them the details they need to make affirmative decisions on projects, and then coordinating the work internally at PECI and with other field staff.  

The successful candidate will be well versed in account and project management, energetic and personable, and thrive in a dynamic environment. They must possess the ability to collaborate with a team to find creative solutions to issues that jeopardize program goals or timing, within budget and resource constraints.  He or she will manage and promptly resolve customer concerns, record and track customer interactions in accordance with program and client procedures, and verify product installations and that all paperwork received is accurate and complete. The AAM will develop strategies to drive increased savings acquisition, and prepare sales forecasts. 

Typical undertakings may include working with Key Account customers during their budget planning cycles, providing information to them with metrics to drive adoption, coordinating cross-regional projects with other members of the Grocery Practice, field and office, and working directly with contractors on all phases of retrofit projects.   The AAM is accountable for achieving specific energy efficiency goals (as measured by kWh delivery) for PECI programs and for PECI’s long-term strategy. These goals are critical for the overall success of the company and consequently, the AAM must balance the role of customer/contractor/market actor advocate with the needs of programs on an ongoing basis.

The AAM is expected to display the following core competencies: adaptability, project management, relationship collaboration, initiative, and budget management.  Preferred candidates will have experience working with national grocery, pharmacy, or restaurant chains, commercial refrigeration and HVAC contractors and technicians, and/or energy efficiency programs. 

Responsibilities:
•    Works with Key Account customers, customers’ designated agents, trade contractors, program staff, and utility representatives to develop and complete projects.
•    Proactively develops, manages and expands customer relationships to meet defined energy savings targets.
•    Strategically identifies and creates new customer/market relationships with segments and channels in coordination with Program and Field Management.
•    Identifies and develops opportunities and manages project to completion.
•    Manages incentive paperwork process and track projects using Salesforce/CRM.
•    Ensures all project details, such as paperwork, eligibility analysis, scheduling audits, rebate processing, etc. are accurately tracked and continue to move forward.
•    Develops creative ways to achieve program objectives and scopes relevant tasks.
•    Facilitates and tracks energy efficiency projects and initiatives, using project management skills to coordinate with numerous project players and utility representatives...
•    Deliver to kWh savings goal for multiple Grocery programs.
•    Actively recruits and educates contractors for programs.
•    10% - 25% travel required.

Requirements

Skills / Education / Experience:
•    BA/BS – preferred.
•    Self-motivated, quick and assertive.
•    Extremely detail oriented and organized.
•    Proven collaborative skills and technical aptitude.
•    Ability to build strong, quality long-term relationships.
•    Experience of CRM software tools and processes – Salesforce preferred
•    Minimum of 3 years of experience managing projects and supporting their execution with large customers and client expectations.
•    Strong MS Excel and Word skills.
•    Experience working with utility rebate programs – preferred.
•    Proven familiarity with core business metrics (Simple Payback, ROI, IRR, NPV) – preferred.
•    Technical knowledge of new construction, commissioning, refrigeration, lighting and HVAC technologies – preferred.
•    Experience promoting energy efficiency measures in a business setting – preferred.
•    Broad network of industry contacts and connections across grocery and convenience store sectors - highly desired.

Physical Requirements:

The AAM role is mainly office based however this role may include visits to store sites to conduct onsite energy audits, pre-inspections, or post-install verifications. As such, physical requirements will include standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, lifting or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, working inside coolers and freezers, being on rooftops, and other such work. Light manual dexterity needed for using auditing tools. Employee will also drive moderate distances and/or take airline flights. Office work includes sitting or standing for long periods of time, typing and using hands for other light manual dexterity work, and using a computer and other basic office tools.
