The Grocery Account Manager Specialist (AMS) is the central resource for independent grocery customers and trade ally/contractor project coordination and will serve as the expert on program terms and conditions, processes and metrics.  The AMS will establish and build relationships with local and regional trade contractors as well as small and medium independent grocers throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Vermont. The AMS will drive project activity pursuant to generating energy savings on a monthly basis, and spearhead other contractor savings initiatives, as needed, within PECI’s northeast grocery programs.  He or she will be primarily responsible for selling and closing projects with customers and contractors. The AMS will manage and promptly resolve customer concerns, record and track customer interactions in accordance with program and client procedures, and verify product installations and that all paperwork received is accurate and complete. The AMS will perform energy efficiency audits, present energy savings reports as well as developing strategies to drive increased savings acquisition and prepare sales forecasts. 

The successful candidate will be well versed in account and project management, able to build relationships and rapport with grocers and contractors as well as making and closing deals to delivery kWh savings. They must possess the ability to collaborate with a team to find creative solutions to issues that jeopardize program goals or timing, within budget or resource constraints. He or she will leverage their energy efficiency expertise to drive decision making on all aspects of project activities and drive projects forward. 

Typical undertakings may include working with trade contractors on projects, coordinating cross-state projects with account managers and working directly with grocery customers. The AMS will be expected to develop strategies for measure pushes that align PECI program needs and customer needs and expectations. To achieve this, the AMS will work with a range of associated stakeholders such as installation contractors and equipment suppliers.  The AMS is accountable for achieving specific energy efficiency (as measured by kWh delivery) goals for PECI programs and for PECI’s long-term strategy. These goals are critical for the overall success of the company and consequently, the AMS must balance the role of customer/trade contractor advocate with the needs of programs on an ongoing basis.

The AMS is expected to display the following core competencies: adaptability, project management, relationship collaboration, initiative, and technical proficiency with energy efficiency technologies.  Preferred candidates will have experience working with commercial refrigeration and HVAC contractors and technicians and/or energy efficiency programs. 

Responsibilities:
•    Works with other program staff, trade contractors, customers and utility representatives to develop and complete projects  
•    Perform energy efficiency audits using auditing software
•    Proactively develops, manages and expands contractor relationships to meet defined energy savings targets
•    Identifies and develops opportunities initially through the use of Account Managers and ultimately regional contractors, and manages projects to completion
•    Manages incentive paperwork process and tracks projects using Salesforce/CRM
•    Ensures all project details, such as paperwork, eligibility analysis, scheduling audits, rebate processing, etc. are accurately tracked and continue to move forward.
•    Develops creative ways to achieve program objectives and scopes relevant tasks
•    Facilitates and tracks energy efficiency projects and initiatives, using project management skills to coordinate with numerous project players and utility representatives
•    Deliver to kWh savings goal for multiple Northeast programs
•    Actively recruits and educates contractors for programs
•    20% - 40% regional travel required, may require overnight stays

Requirements

Skills / Education / Experience:
•    Ability to sell energy efficiency projects and close deals
•    Self-motivated and assertive
•    Detail oriented and organized
•    Complete understanding and wide application of energy efficiency, sales and technical principles, theories and concepts 
•    Proven collaborative skills and technical aptitude
•    Ability to build strong, quality long-term relationships
•    Minimum of 3 years of experience managing projects and supporting their execution with trade contractors and client expectations
•    Strong MS Excel and Word skills
•    Experience working with utility rebate programs - preferred
•    Proven familiarity with core business metrics (Simple Payback, ROI, IRR, NPV) - preferred
•    Technical knowledge of new construction, commissioning, refrigeration, lighting and HVAC technologies - preferred
•    Experience promoting energy efficiency measures in a business setting – preferred
•    Broad network of industry contacts and connections across grocery sectors - highly desired
•    Proven knowledge of CRM software, Salesforce.com in particular - highly desired
•    BA/BS - preferred

Physical Requirements:
•    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 
•    Requires considerable manual dexterity 
•    Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 
•    Employee must also frequently drive moderate to long distances in an automobile
