Overview

The Facilities HVAC Technician is responsible for the daily maintenance and repair of the HVAC systems as assigned by the Assistant Director of Facilities.  In addition, the Facilities HVAC Technician is responsible for is responsible for assisting the Facilities Technicians and performing maintenance work.

 

Located in Henderson, Nevada, approximately twenty-five minutes from the notorious Las Vegas strip, Touro University Nevada is a non-profit medical, health sciences, and education graduate university focused on positively impacting our community in healthcare and education. Responsibilities

  • Maintain the performance of the heating, ventilation, and cooling systems.
    • Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systems.
    • Maintain proper stock of parts, tools, and safety equipment.
  • Maintains and repairs buildings and equipment.
    • Perform daily inspections of areas. Ensure buildings are safe, fully operational, clean, and meets exceptional appearance standards.
    • Remedy any discrepancies through a work order and/or vendor.
    • Ensure all safety equipment is present and functional.
  • Complete all assigned work orders within the specified time as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Monitor and promote workplace safety. Assures adherence to safety rules, regulations, procedures, and precautions while involved in work tasks.
  • Prepare purchase requests for supplies and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

Education:

  • Completion of an HVAC School is preferred.

Experience:

  • HVAC experience in maintenance and repair – 2 years.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  

  • Possession of a valid Nevada driver’s license.
  • EPA 608 Certification or obtain it in 90 days.
  • Ability and clearance to drive company vehicles.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
  • Strong customer service skills with a desire to exceed customer’s expectations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to access the roof hatch by climbing ladders that reach 35 ft.
  • Ability to climb folding ladders up to 15 ft.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Ability to work in severe weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, stoops, crouches, pushes, pulls, and reaches above shoulders in the performance of duties.
  • Ability to safely prepare and operate pressure cleaning machines, compressors and related tools
  • Knowledge of codes and regulations applicable to the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs
