The successful candidate will join a team of professionals supporting Apollo’s flagship insurance strategic capital franchise and multi-asset opportunistic funds within the growing Strategic Accounts group. The role will include high levels of interaction with investors, internal investment professionals, and senior leaders. This individual will be tasked with the quality execution of the day-to-day core accounting responsibilities, driving improvements in processes and reporting, and engaging in problem-solving. We are seeking a talented and dedicated professional with the ability to be part of a versatile team and a strong desire to learn and develop in their career. Candidates for this position will have the ability to drive change and help us scale through participation in technology projects, controls\workflow and overall delivering quality service to our clients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end close process, including completing a NAV package with all the relevant supporting documentation, maintaining the fund-level waterfall, calculating performance figures, coordinate investor reporting to limited partners and regulatory bodies.

  • Reporting quarterly and annually accounting information to corporate accounting to generate 10Q/10K; review of 10Q/10K drafts

  • Create and/or review year-end financial statements, facilitate the audit and provide information for tax preparation annually.

  • Analyze profit/loss; and fund performance for investors on a monthly and quarterly basis

  • Calculate management fees & incentive fees for hedge and private equity style fund structures

  • Analyze and prepare expense allocations and budget cash liquidity for multiple fund entities

  • Maintain fund general ledger and prepare partner capital activity notices including distribution waterfalls

  • Coordinate closely with internal counterparts in Corporate, Operations, Marketing, Tax, Legal, and front office functions

  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests from senior leaders and investors

Qualifications & Experience

  • CPA preferred. 2-4 years of Public/Private accounting experience, particularly in asset management or alternatives.

  • Strong U.S. GAAP technical accounting expertise.

  • Previous Hedge Fund/PE Style/Financial Services experience a plus.

  • A critical thinker with strong quantitative and analytical skills who expresses their thoughts and ideas clearly both in oral and written communications.

  • A collaborative thinker who can also work independently, multitask and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • A proactive and organized self-starter with a positive attitude, powerful work ethic, strong attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

  • College degree with a competitive GPA and demonstrated math or analytical ability.

Pay Range

$85,000 – $110,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
