POSITION OVERVIEW:
The successful candidate will join a team of professionals supporting Hybrid and Secondaries fund finance team. The candidate will be tasked with the quality execution of the day-to-day core accounting responsibilities, driving improvements in processes and reporting, and engaging in problem-solving. This role involves working closely with several departments within Apollo including investment and portfolio management team, valuation and pricing, legal, tax and marketing to ensure the preparation of accurate and timely information. We are seeking a talented and dedicated professional with the ability to be part of a versatile team and a strong desire to learn and develop in their career.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Qualifications & Experience
• Chartered Accountant preferred
• 4-7 years (Fund accounting/Fund Controller) experience preferred
• Previous Hedge Fund/PE Style/Secondaries Business/Financial Services experience a plus
• Experience with general ledger accounting software a plus
• A critical thinker with strong quantitative and analytical skills who expresses their thoughts and ideas clearly both in oral and written communications.
• A collaborative mindset who can also work independently, multitask, and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive and organized self-starter with a positive attitude, powerful work ethic, strong attention to detail and advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
• A change cultivator, with a strong technology background and a focus on automation
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel required, experience with VPM, Investran, Python & Power BI a plus
