Here’s what you will do:

  • Plan and provides logistical support for drilling, completion and workover operations.

  • Coordinate operations of contract drilling and work-over activities.

  • Plan necessary sequences of operations, scheduling and ordering of services and supplies.

  • Does calculations of specific job-related parameters.

  • Maintain records of daily operations and prepares timely and accurate reports.

  • Maintain company and leased drilling equipment.

  • Maintain cost accounting records.

  • Responsible for monitoring for compliance with all policies established by Company and all applicable industry rules and regulations and ensuring information regarding possible violations is reported appropriately.

  • Work closely with the engineers and other technical staff to implement and carry out all necessary operations to complete the work.

  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Who you are:

You have:

  • A related Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ related experience OR an Associate’s degree with a minimum of 7 years’ related experience OR a High School diploma/GED with a minimum of 9 years’ related experience in drilling/completions operations or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Drilling and operational experience specifically in the Green River Basin, Wyoming and Uintah Basin, Utah, as well as other Rockies oil and gas development areas.

  • Knowledge of advanced oil and gas drilling operations.

  • Knowledge of all state and federal government safety and environmental requirements.

  • Basic math skills.

You are:

  • Experience in drilling directional and horizontal wells within the Rockies. Familiar with different downhole tools, casing equipment, mud types, drilling practices, wellheads, rig types, and application of these items.

  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Able to visualize mechanical and hydraulic concepts.

  • Familiar with mechanics and hydraulics and the ability to calculate and/or estimate necessary parameters.

Working Conditions:

  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

  • Must undergo random drug and/or alcohol testing with satisfactory results subject to DOT and company requirements depending on specific job duties.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to move items weighing up to 500 lbs. with equipment assistant and use various hand tools and hoists.

  • Must be able to see objects at close range and to determine the distance and relationship between objects.

  • Must be able to match or discriminate between colors.

  • Must be able to hear and carry out instructions at the drilling sight.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 50 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
