Position Overview

Apollo is looking for a dynamic individual to join the Institutional Client Group (ICG) and support the Head of ICG in managing strategic accounts for our Asia institutional business. This role involves close collaboration with the Head of ICG on daily strategic account management and maintaining a consistent rhythm of operations for the sales team.

As a representative of the Head of ICG, the candidate must possess exceptional emotional intelligence (EQ) to interact with various stakeholders, manage multiple priorities daily, and respond promptly and accurately to time-sensitive tasks. The role requires comprehensive knowledge of all business areas, outstanding relationship management, communication, and influencing skills at all levels, with a strong focus on execution.

Additionally, this position will serve as a central point of coordination for the ICG Asia team, support fundraising efforts across other client facing teams, and ensure thorough coverage and maintenance of all external relationships.

The ideal candidate is adept at connecting the dots, highly organized, detail-oriented, and operates with the utmost integrity and judgement. Flexibility and the ability to meet, manage, and exceed strict deadlines under pressure are essential for this role.

Strategic Account Management

  • Support the Head of ICG Asia in developing and executing the strategic account coverage plan across the region, working together with the regional coverage teams to support their coverage.
  • Serve as a versatile and trusted “right-hand” to the Head of ICG Asia on all key client related initiatives.
  • Project manage day-to-day activity with our key strategic accounts in partnership with regional sales teams. Ensure mechanisms are in place to follow-through on key deliverables both internally and externally.
  • Develop and maintain trackers for our key account activities in APAC and help hold sales and product teams accountable for progress.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the firm to help drive understanding of and support for the institutional client activities of Apollo in APAC.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects to support initiatives with key accounts in the region.

Regional Co-ordination / Business Management for Strategic Accounts

  • Drive co-ordination within ICG Asia team as well as with the broader capital formation teams in the region, plus day-to-day management of strategic account workflows across teams. Interface with Asia management (both regional and in-country).
  • Prepare/coordinate bespoke materials for strategic partnership discussions, meetings with key LPs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Excellent education and academic record.
  • 8-12 years of prior fund raising and/or investment experience, preferably within a traditional or alternative asset management firm.
  • Sound understanding of alternatives, particularly private credit and equity.
  • Ability to cultivate and manage senior stakeholder relationships both regionally and globally.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with colleagues, partners, and clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Capable of understanding complex operational processes and concepts and articulating it in layman terms to relevant parties to facilitate solutions.
  • An enthusiastic self-starter with a proactive and hands-on approach. High energy and drive, and comfort with working in a lean, fast-paced environment, demonstrating a willingness to ‘roll up their sleeves’.
  • A strong compliance culture and commitment to adhere to and embrace internal compliance policies.
  • Exhibit the ‘One Apollo’ mind-set, an environment without silos where cooperation and coordination are vital to success.
