Email Marketing Specialist

POSITION PURPOSE:

We are seeking a creative and skilled Email Marketer to develop and optimize email marketing
strategies that connect with our target audience and drive impactful results. This role involves
managing the end-to-end process of email campaigns from content creation to performance
analysis, with a focus on fostering strong relationships with our subscribers. Reporting to the
Senior Marketing Manager, the Email Marketer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to
ensure email efforts align with broader organizational goals.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and execute comprehensive email marketing strategies to achieve
  organizational goals and enhance subscriber engagement.
• Design and implement email marketing campaigns, including developing copy, creating
  templates, building segmented lists, and managing campaign schedules and calendars.
• Create engaging brand-aligned content with compelling subject lines, visuals, and calls
  to action to maximize subscriber engagement.
• Monitor and analyze email performance metrics such as deliverability, open rates,
  click-through rates, conversions, and ROI by utilizing UTMs.
• Conduct A/B testing on email elements like subject lines and content to improve
  campaign performance.
• Maintain database accuracy and hygiene, ensuring compliance with with GDPR and
  and other data protection regulations.
• Use data insights to identify optimization opportunities and enhance email targeting and
  personalization.
• Grow the email subscriber base by utilizing strategically placed sign-up forms, gated
  content and partnerships.
• Report campaign results to manager and leadership, providing insights and
  recommendations to refine email marketing strategies.
• Collaborate with design, content, social, website, and analytics to align email marketing
  initiatives with broader campaigns.
• Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices to drive continuous
  improvement and innovation in email marketing efforts.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or similar.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an email marketing role.
• Proficiency in email marketing platforms such as Klaviyo, Hubspot, or similar.
• Familiarity with HTML and CSS for email template customizations.
• Strong understanding of GDPR, CAN-SPAM, and email deliverability best practices.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools like Google Analytics.
• Experience with A/B testing and email campaign optimization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a creative and curious mindset.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Experience with CRM integration and donor segmentation strategies.
• Certifications in email marketing or related fields (asset).
• Experience working in a non-profit organization (asset).

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

COMPENSATION:  Typical starting range is $56,000 USD - $60,000 USD which will be based on skills, location and experience. Annual performance increase may be available but not guaranteed.
