Job Description

As a FAE for North America (NAM), you will serve as a technical expert in Schréder’s smart & connected lighting solutions, guiding customers from initial concept through deployment, implementation, and system optimization.

Remote position within the United States with proximity to a major airport required. Position focuses on supporting business operations throughout the USA and Canada.

Must possess hands-on experience in outdoor lighting applications, specifically with roadway and area lighting systems, including proven expertise implementing and supporting networked lighting control (NLC) solutions.

Responsibilities include:

Pre-sales Technical Leadership

Partner with NAM sales teams to provide expert technical consultation during customer engagements
Conduct demonstrations of Schréder's Exedra Lighting Management System and Exedra mobile app.
Create proof of concept demonstrations and support customer pilot projects.
Create detailed technical documentation including application notes, engineering drawings, RFP responses, and product specifications to meet customer requirements
Mentor sales teams on technical aspects of smart lighting solutions. Support development of technical sales tools and competitive analysis.

Product Development & Global Collaboration

Drive technical collaboration with Schréder product team (Hyperion, Portugal) to optimize NAM market requirements and product development initiatives.
Partner with regional FAEs worldwide to share technical expertise, market insights, and best practices
Conduct technical validation and testing of new products to ensure compliance with quality standards. Contribute to technical best practices and implementation guideline
Provide technical market intelligence to inform product strategy and roadmap planning

Installation Support & Customer Success

Design and validate lighting control solutions, including system architecture, network topology, and advanced control capabilities (e.g. dynamic or adaptive lighting)
Partner with project management to develop and execute network lighting control deployment plans that align with customer requirements
Lead online or on-site technical support, including system commissioning, troubleshooting, and training to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction
Manage integration requirements for third-party platforms (GIS, Asset Management, Work Order Management), collaborating with engineering teams on API-based solutions
Drive continuous improvement through systematic tracking of technical support cases and customer feedback to enhance product development and operational efficiency

Technical Partnership Development

• Evaluate and qualify potential technology partners to determine optimal solutions for specific projects

• Conduct technical validation and integration testing of partner products with Schréder systems

• Develop comprehensive technical documentation for partner integrations to support global development teams

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
3+ years' experience with outdoor lighting applications, including proven expertise implementing networked lighting control solutions
Strong foundation in networking principles, IP-based communications, and system architecture design
Experience with API integrations and third-party software platforms
Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions and present complex solutions to diverse audiences
Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex system issues
Ability to travel up to 35% within NAM. Possible European travel to support Schréder Group initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineering (PE) license or Lighting Certification (LC)
Experience with smart city technologies and IoT platforms
Knowledge of TALQ, D4i, or other lighting control standards
Experience working with GIS, asset management, and/or work order management systems
Familiarity with ANSI/IES lighting standards and practices

Strong relationship builder, effectively collaborating with customers, partners, and cross-functional teams
Demonstrated project management skills with ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
Experience managing on-site deployments and coordinating with electrical contractors, field crews, and streetlight operations management teams
Self-directed professional with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Customer-centric approach with excellent consultative skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
