Job Description Summary

Repsol has an opening for a Financial Accountant to support the CFO team based in the US. This position supports the Administration Manager with a broad range of G&A and Intercompany accounting duties.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for month-end close tasks including preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals and review of general ledger activity associated with G&A for reasonableness.

  • Responsible for monthly prepaid amortization entries and monitoring of prepaid accounts.

  • Responsible for monthly G&A reclassification entries.

  • Maintain monthly balance sheet account reconciliations by resolving reconciling items and issues in a timely manner.

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors ensuring timely delivery of audit requests and resolution of outstanding issues.

  • Support internal control compliance.

  • Provide support for G&A ad-hoc requests from internal departments.

  • Collaboration with individuals from various teams and other offices regarding month-end close, accrual postings and management reporting deliverables.

  • Assist Intercompany Accountants with the review and analysis of daily loan cash movements, and monthly loan entries and validations.

  • Evaluate processes and controls for continuous improvement recommendations and efficiencies.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • The legal authorization to work in the US for any US employer without the need for sponsorship.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

  • 2 plus years of accounting experience.

  • Oil & Gas company experience preferred.

  • Prior experience with SAP.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
