Title: Investment Planning Lead

Location: Dayton, OH (40% telecommuting permitted)

Employer: AES Clean Energy Services, LLC

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the $500M+ US Utilities CapEx project portfolio to drive optimal outcomes for customers and the business; Present optimized CapEx portfolios to Financial Planning & Analysis and other business stakeholders; Develop strategy to foster and maintain cooperative relationships with stakeholders in T&D, Global AES businesses, regulators, and other parties interested in economic regulatory matters affecting US T&D; Evaluate strategic alternatives and investment opportunities for AES and prepare analysis and materials to support recommendations and decision making; Lead the continued implementation and enhancement of the Copperleaf Portfolio Investment Planning tool, develop and lead trainings for users; Manage the T&D Value Framework and ensure that project valuation metrics align with business goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Job requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field and 5 years of experience in any job title/occupation involving budget and/or portfolio management.

Job requires 5 years of experience in each of the following: Excel models in macros, pivot tables, formulas and data manipulation; Economic and financial modeling of assets in infrastructure and energy sectors (highways, urban mobility, airports, clean energy and generation); Financial Statements (DRE, BP and DFC), results reporting and cost management for shareholders and directors, budgets, valuations and financial analysis; and Optimization of OpEx and CapEx in distressed assets through a short/medium term management plan. Job requires 3 years of experience in each of the following: Managing customer service operations in the renewable/clean energy sector to ensure optimal daily operations of organization’s capex project portfolio; and Copperleaf portfolio planning system (C55). Job also requires experience in each of the following: Capability to oversee all aspects of portfolio including approving project budgets, evaluating, and determining strategic alternatives and organization’s investment opportunities; Implementation expertise of the Zero Base Budget methodology; Implementation expertise of SAP/BPC integrated systems; Implementation of AES Brazil and AES US Generation CapEx Budget and Forecasting process; Standard financial analysis techniques to ensure the availability of accurate financial and risk information based on organization’s Asset Management Global Standards; Accounting system design and consolidations logic; and Development of the Business Intelligence tool that allowed real time access to management information for strategic decision making.

10% international and domestic travel to attend conferences and meetings.
