Job Description Summary:
The Junior Electrical Estimator will be responsible for assisting in the calculation and measuring of material quantity requirements, gathering and preparation of routine estimating data and compiling data for use in electrical estimates for photovoltaic (PV) solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) projects.Job Description:

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist with takeoff responsibilities as they apply to electrical items, components, and activities supporting the construction of utility scale solar sites.
Uploading data into electrical estimating software for producing detailed estimate reports.
Prepare and review cost reports for accuracy, completeness, and trending within comparables.
Assist in identifying, requesting, and capturing all closeout costs necessary for preparing the bid packages, including subcontract work, equipment rentals, quoted materials, tools and consumables.
Assist in preparation of conceptual estimates.
Assist in the comparison of conceptual estimates with actual cost data.
Assist in developing project update and bid package estimate documents comparison.
Attend site visits as needed to learn more about the systems being estimated.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.
3 years in project field or financial admin role; completion of Construction Management Certificate, or in process.
Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings.
General knowledge of construction costs and principles.
Estimating experience desirable.
Drafting and computer skills.
Reliability, dependability and flexibility.
General understanding of construction cost estimates.
Proficient with Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Microsoft suite. Familiarity with Accubid estimating software is preferred.
Attention to detail and a systematic approach to problem solving.
Able to accurately and timely perform mathematical operations for material quantification and cost projections.
Sense of urgency β ability to stress urgency for internal and external partners to meet deadlines.
Problem Solver β Ability to think of creative solutions to reduce cost and/or meet schedule.
