The Manager, Wholesale Sales Analytics is responsible for the oversight of the wholesale sales structuring group, which provides pricing and analytical support to wholesale sales business development managers across the various Company jurisdictions, including the Carolinas, Florida and the Midwest. This role provides strategic guidance for performing specialized structuring and financial analysis required to price, structure, and evaluate wholesale energy sales opportunities to generate incremental EBIT for regulated utility operations, including the quantification of company risk exposure and providing recommendations to maximize shareholder value and company earnings.
Oversight of wholesale sales structuring group. Functions overseen or managed by this position may include:
Analysis, structuring and strategic assessment of customer wholesale energy sales opportunities to provide incremental EBIT or retain existing customers for regulated operations.
Management/development of wholesale customer rate projections and analysis, wholesale load forecasting and wholesale revenues and earnings forecasts and analysis.
Support wholesale sales team to meet various contractual obligations related to customer rate updates, monthly fuel analysis and other wholesale matters and data requests.
Analysis to support retail special contracts and programs to attract and/or retain targeted retail customers including structuring innovative solutions to meet customer objectives while maximizing corporate earnings and cost recovery.
Support Integrated Resource Planning activities including wholesale contract and wholesale generation modeling in the IRP.
Support the analysis of wholesale sales strategic corporate initiatives including developing business cases and/or financial analysis such as revenue, cost allocation and rate impacts.
Oversee the management of internal client relationships (specifically the Wholesale Sales management team) and others to ensure high quality customer service is provided and issues are resolved promptly.
Develop and manage a motivated and energized staff of professionals through an emphasis on teamwork, empowerment, and professional development, while demonstrating the highest level of integrity, ethics and safety.
Bachelorβs degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Accounting, Business or other related degree AND 10 years of minimum required related experience
Preferred Education: Masters of Business Administration
Preferred Certifications: CPA or Professional Engineer
Expertise in analytical, problem solving and financial evaluation skills and managing complex analytical models
Understanding regulated utility operations including resource planning, system operations, production cost modeling and cost causation
Understanding of regulated utility rate making, cost of service and cost allocation methodology and capital investment analysis
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationship with key stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong business acumen
Hybrid Mobility Classification β Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility.
