We are hiring a Mechanical Technician II to perform minor and major overhaul of reciprocating gas compressor units and related support equipment, including generator units and water pump units.

Here’s what you will do:
Train and directs co-workers.
Respond to equipment problems and emergency calls.
Maintain mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
Communicate information and recommendations to supervisors and company workers.
Assist in planning compressor station maintenance activities.
Inventory spare equipment parts and maintains records on equipment.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Who you are:
You have:
A High School diploma/GED with a minimum of 5 years directly related experience.
Advanced knowledge of the operation of stationary equipment (mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment such as compressors, generators and water pumps).
Advanced skill in performing all types of repairs to stationary equipment.
Advanced skill in the use or repair and hand tools such as torque wrenches, drills and grinders.
Strong knowledge of computer software programs needed to support stationary equipment control systems.
Knowledge of basic math to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and to perform the four operations with decimals and fractions.
Advanced ability to identify system voltages and safely lockout/tag out electrical systems.
You are:
Able to understand and complete written and oral instructions.
Able to lift items weighing up to 75 lbs. and move items weighing up to 500 lbs. with equipment assistance while using various hand tools and hoists.
Able to hear to respond to internal and external inquiries.
Able to see objects at close range and to determine the distance and relationship between objects.
Able to smell to detect natural gas and match and discriminate between colors.
Able to distinguish the nature of sounds to determine if equipment is running correctly or to hear a gas leak.
You can:
Respond to emergency conditions, which may include changing flat tires, chaining up vehicle, operating jack, performing minor maintenance, and operating a two-way radio.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Working Conditions:
Office Work Environment – up to 25%.

Heat – between 51-75%.
Loud Noise – between 51-75%.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 75 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
