We are a fast-growing organization which is focused on sustainable growth, committed to a low carbon future and believes in innovation. We are seeking an innovative and motivated individual to join our Island Maintenance team.
Reporting to the Operations & Maintenance Manager, the Power Plant Electrician & Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for completing maintenance of electrical/instrumentation components and systems of the plant and related infrastructure
You will contribute to our team by:
Completes work orders safely, efficiently, and optimally maintain electrical and instrumentation systems of the plant.
Function of CMMS including input of work requests as required.
Conduct comprehensive analysis into electrical/instrumentation component and system issues and resolve practically and optimally.
Knowledge and competency of all applicable Electrical/Instrumentation codes and best practices.
Firm understanding of Capital Powerβs and Island Generation policies and procedures.
Pursue proactive measures for maintaining plant reliability.
Seek out most efficient means in completion of tasks while keeping safety at the forefront.
Provide technical input into the improvement and optimization of plant electrical/instrumentation systems and processes.
Drives innovation into improvement of E&I teamwork structure and procedures.
Places betterment of the team and plant above personal motives.
Providing solutions to technical and team issues in spite of barriers that may exist.
Active participant and contributor to safety programs and initiatives.
Instill zero risk to themselves and co-workers regarding HSE.
Accurately assess the risk of equipment deficiencies to plant reliability.
Build and maintain effective relationships amongst team and other groups in the plant.
Collaboration with other groups/disciplines for efficient resolution to complex issues.
What you will bring to the role:
Education:
Grade 12 Diploma
Recognized Trade School
Experience:
5 years in an industrial/power industry setting as an E/I Tech
Technical Skills:
Red Seal Journeyman Electrician
Red Seal Journeyman Instrumentation
2-year technical program in electrical or instrumentation (must successfully complete apprenticeship)
Working Conditions:
Heavy industrial facility designated as a safety sensitive location.
Physical mobility and ability to use PPE required.
Union/out-of-scope work force.
Additional Details:
Union: UNIFOR1123
Wage Range: $64.55
Hours of Work: 38 hours a week
This position is eligible for a Relocation package for candidates relocating to Campbell River.
This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
As this is a safety sensitive position, clearance of a pre-employment drug & alcohol test is required, subject to applicable law.
Clearance of a pre-employment medical will also be required.
