Job Description:

In the summer of 2021, Repsol expanded its renewables operations to the US through the acquisition of a large U.S.-based PV solar and battery storage project developer. This transaction was Repsol's first foray into the U.S. renewables market. In 2024, Repsol made another strategic acquisition of ConnectGen from Quantum Capital Group. Repsol Renewables Services North America (“RRSNA”) is targeting to own and operate 3-4 GW of renewable capacity in North America by 2027.

RRSNA is seeking a pre - construction intern with a focus in Engineering (electrical, civil or mechanical) or Construction Management to join our dynamic team and support the company’s growing utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects across the U.S.

This is a twelve (12) week program starting May 19, 2025 – August 8, 2025, in Downtown Houston.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with project managers, engineers and other renewable professionals in a team environment and see how they work together to deliver successful projects
  • Keeping accurate records of experiments, designs, and project-related information, and preparing reports or documentation as needed
  • Working as part of a team and communicating effectively with colleagues, engineers, and supervisors to achieve project goals, and identifying and addressing technical issues or challenges that arise during projects and proposing solutions
  • Support technical deliverables for the development of solar and wind energy projects, including but not limited to:
    • Preliminary project site designs
    • Resource assessment strategy and production estimates
    • Technical input to project schedules
    • Preliminary engineering to support permitting, interconnection and procurement
  • Develop and support innovative tools and approaches to optimize levelized cost of energy
  • Review and comment on engineering and technical deliverables including drawings, designs, reports, and other data
  • Work closely with project team on project schedules and budgets, stakeholder communication, constructability reviews, risk management, and change management of assigned projects
  • Assist with the creation of specifications for major equipment/contractor procurement and provide technical support through the procurement process

Requirements:

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work/student visa.
  • Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical or related) or Construction Management degree program
  • Having a technical background in civil/construction/electrical/mechanical engineering or construction management will be positively evaluated
  • Ability to be self-motivated and high attention to details
  • Exemplary standards of integrity, safety, ethics, quality, and productivity
  • Proficiency with MS applications
  • Self-motivated, organized, and hard-working
  • Strong written and technical writing skills
  • Ability to excel in a multidisciplinary team environment as well as independently
  • Be fluent in oral and written English and have effective communication skills
  • Be able to travel to project sites
